Abstract:This paper takes Present Xi’s keynote speeches of the three Belt and Road International Cooperation Summits in 2017,2019,and 2023 as examples and uses conceptual metaphor theory and framing theory to deeply analyze the metaphors in these speeches. The paper aims to deeply explore the metaphor construction and function in the B&R Initiative from the perspective of discourse analysis, as well as the manifestation of metaphors in the keynote speeches. In this study, we will combine conceptual metaphor theory and framing theory to analyze the metaphor phenomena in the discourse from multiple dimensions, enhancing the understanding of the B&R Initiative and providing new perspectives and insights for its theoretical research and practical application.
