Research on the application of pragmatic perspective in English intonation

Abstract:Study the application of English intonation in practical communication, aiming to understand its function and influence. Pragmatics focuses on the actual meaning and function of the language. As a non-literal language form, intonation conveys emotion and attitude, and affects information transmission and understanding. For example, tone changes can change the sentence meaning. Intonality is particularly important in intercultural communication because the different use of intonation by different cultures can lead to misunderstanding. In-depth study of the application and significance of intonation in different contextsis crucial to improve communicative efficiency and ensure the accuracy of cross-cultural communication. Through this research, we can better understand the complexity and diversity of intonation in practical communication, and thus use intonation more effectively in practical application to achieve the desired communication effect.
